What a beautiful day for a trip to the Memorial Park!! The weather today could not have been better. Everyone had such a great time playing and enjoying our picnic lunches. They were all tired on the walk back, but I was so proud of their strength and determination. It was just a wonderful day!

Every week at Academy School we are lucky to attend an all school sing led by our vocal music teacher. It was his last school sing before retiring. Traditionally, the final one of the year is held outdoors in our courtyard and is called Rock-N-Roll all school sing. This year it needed to be inside due to the weather. It is such a fun time!
Last week we went to Lilac Ridge Farm and learned all about cows from Farmer Amanda and Farmer Ross. We even got the chance to help cross the cows from the barn, through the road to the pasture. It was so much fun! We learned about how cows make milk and how the milk gets from the cows to be made into a dairy product. It was a great trip!

Last week we welcomed back our former Kindergarteners (now BIG first graders) to come read to us! They have done such a wonderful job in first grade and have learned so much! They each were able to read to several Kindergarteners during this time. At the end of their visit, we had a question and answer session about what life is like in first grade. Some of the questions were... "Is it hard to be a first grader?", "What kinds of things do you do in first grade?" and "Do you like to read?" It was so great to have time with our first grade experts!
