Last week we had another person come in to read to us. This time it was someone's dad. He read us two books...The Rain Puddle by Adelaide Holl (about a group of animals and seeing their reflections in a puddle) and The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson (about how a tiny snail meets a humpback whale and the two travel together to far-off lands). Both books were so much fun! Thanks so much for coming in to read to us!

Today we had our first secret reader of the year! It was a very proud grandfather and our Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Stahley. He read us the book A Sick Day for Amos McGee by Phillip C. Stead. It is a wonderful story about a friendly zookeeper named Amos and his kindness towards his animal friends. We had a great time hearing this story and shared lots of laughs! Thank you Mr. Stahley!

We were so lucky to have Heidi Pancake's dad come in and tap a maple tree for us out in the courtyard. We were able to watch him drill the hole and put in the tap. We had to hang the bucket up really quickly because the sap started to run right out!
