Wow, what a day! BEEC visit in the morning and Valentine's Day in the afternoon! The Kindergartners had such fun opening all of their valentine cards and celebrating with treats this afternoon! It was such a special day to share together with the ones we love!
Yesterday we went on a walking field trip to the West Brattleboro Post Office. The weather was beautiful, we couldn't have asked for a nicer day during the third week in February! The Kindergartners each wrote a letter to their families, purchased a stamp from Holly and mailed it. We got to cancel our stamp, get a tour of the post office and helped Holly wait on the customers. It was a great time!

Yesterday we celebrated the 100th day of school! It is a huge milestone in the primary grades. We talked about how we have become 100 days smarter since the first day of school. One thing that we did was to find out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. We also made fruit loop necklaces with 100 loops!! This was a delicious and fun way to practice counting!
Last Friday we attended an excellent science show by Dr. Quinton Quark from Slapstick Science. It was a very funny educational presentation about physics. He taught the children the three laws of physics in a very fun way. Dr. Quark, who was dressed as a very funny scientist, included the whole audience in his program.
Last week we had a wonderful literacy breakfast! Thank you so much to all of the parents and grandparents who attended this event! Each child was given a copy of Over and Under The Snow by Kate Messner and enjoyed breakfast in the classroom. It was so exciting to have our families here to spend time with us!
