Election Day

Today was Election Day at Academy School!  Chris Szpila's fifth grade organized a mock presidential election and the entire student body was invited to vote for their choice of President.  The Kindergarteners thought that this was an amazing process!  They had to give their last name and then their first name in order to get their ballot.  They went into a voting booth and a fifth grader assisted them in reading the ballot.  The ballots were folded and placed in the voting box and each person received an "I Voted" sticker to display proudly on their clothes.  The results of the school wide vote will be announced tomorrow during all school sing. It was such an amazing way to make even the youngest people feel like they are part of the process and that their vote counts!
